Position Description

Position Description
We are currently seeking an On-Site to join Customer Service Associate our growing team.

The On-Site Service Associate will work at multiple customer sites to collect inventory data, perform the necessary implementation duties to set up a new customer site and consistently provide a high level of customer service, as defined in the Grainger Service Promise. They help navigate customers to solutions that help them get the job done.

Job Responsibilities:
* Performs data collection at the customer’s site.
* Assists customers with staging of the product.
* Perform implementation duties when the need arises.
* Supports the customer’s product ordering needs, product selection and technical support.
* Provides excellent customer service
* Resolves customer problems promptly and accurately in a manner that will retain and promote customer loyalty.
* Uses the SAP system to provide information on pricing, availability and alternate product selection to complete customer transactions.
* May assist customers in the selection of product by effectively communicating product and service offerings.
* May assist in customer training based on the implemented solution. Provide presentations and trainings to Grainger stakeholders and customers on the program/service offering and how to utilize that offering.
* Performs necessary housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe and organized working environment.
* Ensure compliance to documented policies and processes in order to provide superior customer service with the on-site service and to exceed customer expectations.
* Work closely with cross-functional partners.
* Guides customers to other internal resources such as Technical Support, Credit, Grainger Parts and Sourcing or Sales as necessary.
* Works effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems.
* Comply with the safety and inspection requirements of the facility where the service is being provided.
* Utilizes effective probing and listening skills to help generate lead opportunities. Recognizes and responds to cross-sell opportunities and is able to successfully convert inquiries into orders.
* May work on-site at various customer locations.
* Executes the Grainger Service Promise and demonstrates, by action, the company Values.
* Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
Job Requirements include:
* Must be at least 18 years old
* High School diploma or equivalent
* 1-2 years customer service and sales experience
* Able and willing to work in a warehouse environment on a consistent basis during initial training period or as needed based on business need.
* Demonstrates a commitment to provide superior customer service.
* Effective communicator, comfortable interacting with customers and internal partners in a professional manner in person and via the phone.
* Is aware of own strengths and weaknesses. Is open to developmental feedback and takes responsibility for personal development.
* Must be computer literate and able to learn required software programs including SAP.
* Able to operate powered industrial equipment as needed.
* Must be self-directing, managing several projects simultaneously.
* Professional in appearance, attitude and action.
* Background checks, drug screening may be required (as warranted by Company, customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and/or operating equipment).

Position Attributes
* Reports directly to a Market Service Manager or Area Service Manager
* Significant daily interaction with customers, OSS support team, branch team members and members of the Sales staff.
* Some interaction with vendors, freight carriers and other internal business partners.
* Will work at customers’ facilities. This is typically a plant type of facility. Conditions can be noisy and space can be limited.
* Will use computers, scanners, and be in contact with Grainger parts & supplies on a daily basis.
* May be required to drive a Grainger vehicle for customer deliveries.
* Physical requirements include moving from one place to another, reaching, lifting, climbing, standing and bending.
* Verbal and written communication.
* Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance.
* Must be able to take direction, but also to work independently and to change focus to meet changing demands.
* May require travel to local &/or rural markets. Travel 5-10%
