Overview:

The Office of Donor Relations seeks to strengthen the ties between the college and the community. The office serves those who give their time, money and service to the college, overseeing such activities as gift acknowledgement, reporting, donor recognition and stewardship. We seek a part-time summer intern to build a digital catalog of named spaces on campus. This project consists of collecting and cataloging data as it relates to buildings, rooms, and other spaces named for generous donors to Davidson College. This position would be responsible for visiting spaces across campus, identifying which spaces are named, photographing the signage honoring those for whom the space is named, and digitally organizing the data/images in a way that is searchable and easily navigable. Additional duties such as assisting with thank you notes and data entry may also arise.

Responsibilities:

  • Visit spaces across campus to identify areas which are named in honor of specific donors or other honorees.
  • Photograph the spaces and signage that exists.
  • Create a digital catalog/tracking system for the data and photographs that is easily navigable, searchable, and able to be built upon in future years.
  • Assist Donor Relations team members with other duties as needed, including stewardship messaging and data entry.

Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of MS Excel and Word
  • Quick learner of new technology and processes
  • Ability to complete projects and meet deadlines with little supervision
  • Detail-oriented with particular attention to data entry accuracy
  • Self-starter with ability to manage long-term projects

Time Commitment:

  • June 2024 - August 2024
  • 8-10 hours a week
  • Hours negotiable, based on student availability

Pay Rate: $12/hour
