The Law Student Recruiting Manager oversees the law school student recruiting process and summer associate programs for the Chicago office. In addition, the Law Student Recruiting Manager contributes to the development of firm-wide law student recruiting processes and policies. This position coordinates with the Senior Manager of Legal Recruiting, hiring partners, and recruiting committee members to develop and implement hiring strategies.

As a Law Student Recruiting Manager you will:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with law school career services offices and student organizations at key feeder schools to coordinate firm participation and sponsorship of outreach activities
  • Draft pre-arrival onboarding communications for summer associates to ensure consistent onboarding experience
  • Create and update annual on-campus interviewing related documents and templates
  • Keep abreast of current recruiting practices and market trends, and maintain active membership in the National Association for Law Placement and the local city group
  • Develop and review recruiting marketing materials, NALP forms, and law student surveys
  • Act as resource for other administrative departments regarding policies, procedures, and questions related to law student recruitment activities
  • Lead the law student recruiting process for assigned office(s) through on-campus recruiting including coordinating with law schools, creating interview schedules, gathering interviewer feedback, and facilitating the callback interview and offer process
  • Plan and execute10-week summer associate program for assigned office(s) including the work assignment and evaluation processes, events, and other logistics
  • Maintain the applicant tracking system and ensure data integrity for all applicants
  • Compile and analyze on-campus recruiting data and survey results
  • Contribute to firm-wide recruiting initiatives by assisting on special projects

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of recruitment experience in a professional services environment; prior experience in law student recruiting strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment, and handle and maintain confidential information.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Ability to travel within the US on a limited basis.
