What we offer
What you will do:
You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing manufacturing processes and methods required for a premier Fire Suppression manufacturing facility. Key duties include leading and/or participating on projects that increase plant capacity, reduce cost, improve productivity, reduce job hazards, and /or improve product quality.
How you will do it:
Managing capital projects by Justifying, specifying, and installing equipment
Introducing new products (BOM scrubbing, Manufacturing Trial Lots, Assist in Training, and work with Design Engineering on Production Issues related to Design for Manufacturing).
Processing engineering change requests
Creating and maintaining Bill of Materials and Routings (Assembly and Fabrication).
Assist in trouble-shooting assembly & fabrication equipment
Optimizing work-station layout using lean tools and techniques
Provide technical know-how to problem solve and determine root cause of product issues in manufacturing.
Lead and assist with Cost-out, Safety, Kaizen, and other initiatives.
Continuously improve current production methods using Six-Sigma methodologies and utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards.
What we look for:
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other related manufacturing discipline.
3+ years of Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering experience
Lean manufacturing principles (material flow, material presentation, process flow, workstation design.
Proficient in the use of computer-aided design including AutoCAD and SolidWorks and multiple software applications that include Word, Excel, and others.
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing and be able to read and write business policies, procedures, general business periodicals, manuals, blueprints and other correspondence.
Preferred
Strong organizational skills and motivational skills.
Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems and make logical decisions.
Ability to work independently, as well as within a team.
Knowledge of soldering processes
Experience with high volume manufacturing and assembly processes, both manual and automated.
Experience with PLC controls, automated assembly equipment, brass machining and/or soldering preferred.
