We are looking for a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant like you to join our Lubbock Heart team. Your shift will be PRN.

What You Will do in this Role:

  • Treat patients through exercise, massage, gait and balance training, and other therapeutic interventions
  • Implement selected components of care and interventions in a technically competent manner.
  • Instruct and counsel patients effectively in exercises.
  • Identify patient's needs and exhibit compassion, caring, and empathy to individual differences.
  • Recommend options, courses of action or modifications in selected treatments ensuring patient's progress, safety, and comfort.
  • Apply the latest research related to restoring function, reducing symptoms frequency, and preventing injury Help patients do specific exercises as part of the plan of care.
  • Use devise and equipment, such as walkers, to help patients.
  • Educate a patient and their family members about what to do after treatment.
  • Observe patients before, during, and after therapy, noting patient status and reporting it to a physical therapist.
  • Complete documentation to support the delivery of physical therapy services.
  • Perform selected data collection and obtain accurate information.
  • Measure performance and report on patients' medical record
  • Participate in patient status judgments.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards.
  • Clean treatment areas and set up therapy equipment.
  • Help patients move to or from a therapy area.
  • Ensure continued competence and updated field of knowledge.


What Qualifications You Will Need:

  • Proven working experience as a physical therapist assistant.
  • Hands on experience with therapeutic exercises, functional training, and physical modalities
  • Associates or BS degree in PTA
  • License to practice or relevant certification.

Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital specializes in the care of cardiac, orthopedic, nephrology, urology, and general medical patients. We are also a highly active inpatient center mainly centered on surgical procedures that include cardiothoracic, orthopedic, urology, and general surgery. We have a 24-hour Emergency Department with 5 fully equipped ED rooms, 4 fully operating OR rooms, 4 cardiac catherization labs with 1 electrophysiology room, 11-day surgery rooms, 58 acute care beds spread over three units, and 16 cardiac critical care rooms. We pride ourselves on giving the best overall care possible to our patients and on our family style atmosphere that includes everyone: patients and their families, physicians, and our employees.
