We are looking for a dedicated Certified Nurse Aide like you to join our Lubbock Heart team.

What You Will do in this Role:

  • Report to Charge Nurse when arriving to work for instructions about each patient.
  • Obtain Vital Signs as directed and reports abnormalities' to the primary care nurse and or Charge Nurse and documents in patient's electronic medical record.
  • Responsible for monitoring patients' intake/output and documents total intake and output in patient's electronic medical record.
  • Clean unit equipment, refrigerators, and unit area as necessary or as directed.
  • Responsible for monitoring equipment usage and loss.
  • Responsible for monitoring refrigerator/freezer temperatures for unit.
  • Inventory and removing expired products as directed by Director.
  • Set up rooms for admissions, assist in the discharge process, and notifying Monitor Tech of telemetry box number for admissions and discharges.
  • Pass water/ice pitcher to patients who can have water and monitoring use. Checking with primary care nurse of patient's diets.
  • Greet patients, gather information, and demonstrates appropriate customer service skills.
  • Answer call lights and assist with meeting patient needs or deferring to a TPC Nurse.
  • Assist in obtaining items/supplies for unit and patient.
  • Assist patients with eating, dressing, bathing, ambulation, and transportation.
  • Assist in all daily care of patients and turning patients' who are total care.
  • Monitor patients for changes in mental alertness, emotions, or physical ability and notify the charge nurse or TPC Nurse of these changes.
  • Assist with sheath removals once successfully completing competencies.
  • Assist with procedural preps as instructed by TPC Nurse.
  • Complete other duties as assigned (i.e. stocking med room, carts, and other supply areas).
  • Assist unit as needed in noninvasive procedures (i.e. foley catheter removal, INT removal, simple dressing changes, and etc.) under the supervision and direction of TPC Nurse, Charge nurse or Director.
  • Assist in blood glucose monitoring once successfully completing competencies.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • 0 - 2 years' experience as a nurse's assistant in a healthcare setting.
  • Current BLS.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification required.
